Goin’ Green: A Festive Take on Chia Seed Pudding

St. Patrick’s Day is here! And with tons of green ingredients and a little bit of Irish luck, the TYR team was excited to whip up another fun holiday-themed treat for the office.

Currently, we’re all about chia seeds. Why? Well, for starters those little seeds pack a big punch. With protein, Omega-3 fatty acids and fiber, they are an incredible way to jumpstart your breakfast routine. Not to mention, they’re high in antioxidants, calcium and magnesium! Super easy to make and can be paired with just about any fruit/ milk of your choosing, chia seeds are a true go-to for athletes.

Check out the tutorial below for a quick guide to dressing up your traditional chia seed pudding with green ingredients like Avocado and matcha. Also, feel free to put your own twist on this recipe by incorporating your favorite fruit or nut toppings!

What You’ll Need:

1 ½ Cups of Coconut Milk

½ of a Ripe Avocado

2 tbsp. of Matcha

4 tbsp. of Chia Seeds


  1. Place coconut milk, avocado and matcha in a blender and mix until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture over your chia seeds in a medium sized bowl.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Place your chia seeds in the freezer for about an hour and a half, stirring every so often.
  5.  For sweetness consider mixing one small can of coconut cream with vanilla or hazelnut extract in a separate bowl and layering the cream throughout.
